When you leave furniture, books, electronic equipment and more from your home or business in a storage facility, you want the peace of mind of security and cleanliness. A-1 Mini Storage helps our customers through the process, from selecting the right unit to obtaining easy access. Here are some FAQ. Have more questions? Call A-1 7 days a week.
How do I choose the right unit size?
The A-1 Mini Storage staff has years of experience helping customers select the unit size that will accommodate the contents of their apartments, houses or offices. Generally, a 7’x7’ unit holds an average 1-bedroom apartment, and a 10’x20’ unit holds the contents of an average 3-bedroom apartment or small house. Sit down with us to inventory the furniture, equipment and boxes you have to store to make an accurate unit selection.
Why would I want a heated storage unit?
When the seasons change, a heated unit protects your possessions from moisture damage. Also suited to counteracting the damp climate of British Columbia, a heated storage unit works in your favour all year round depending on the items you need to store and how susceptible they are to the effects of humidity.
How do I gain access to my storage unit after hours?
A-1 Mini Storage is open 7 days a week from 8AM to 8PM. However, only you have the key to your storage unit so have it with you. You have 24/7 access beyond our office hours by using your own gate code. If you forget your gate code, the A-1 staff will help you during our business hours 7 days a week.
What kinds of things can’t I store?
A-1 Mini Storage is prepared for the overflow storage of most homes and small businesses, but we do have to restrict certain items for your safety and the safety of our staff and other clients. Please, ask us for specific items you are not about, but laws and guidelines generally prohibited in storage units include:
- Flammable, Hazardous and Toxic Materials
- Medical or Pharmaceutical Supplies and Equipment
- Some Construction Equipment and Vehicles
- Perishable Food Items, Plants and Animal Products
- Stolen Items
